If We’ve All Relied On 9ice, We Won’t Be Having Grammy Winners Today
It’s barely a decade since the Yoruba indigenous singer, Adigun Alapomeji famously known as 9ice promised to bring Grammy to Nigeria, something that has never been achieved by a Nigerian as of then.
9ice accidentally promised Nigerians a Grammy victory in a song he featured 2 Face titled “Street Credibility“. I don’t like to undermine people but I knew from unset that this is just a word-play and he didn’t really mean it.
Judging with his capability during his prime seems to be attainable, Some music lovers believe he can do it with the kind of penetration to the music world and exposure he’s getting as at then
Not just 9ice, we have numerous artistes that were bubbling during that time. The likes of 2 Face, Psquare, D Banj are part of those that were doing excellently.
So if Grammy could have landed in Nigeria, it could definitely come through one of the above mentioned.
Apparently, the music game has changed and unfortunately not favouring the old cargoes. Wizkid, Davido, Burna Boy are part of those dominating this term.
Special thanks to Oluwa Burna and Wizkid for making us proud, it’s not easy but they are the reason we’re been recognized all over the world.
In assumption, we might still be Grammyless if we’ve put all our hopes on 9ice.
See the bigger promise Baba made to us
There are some things that are mostly close to impossible, like Arsenal winning Champions League or Theo Walcott winning Ballon d’Or.
Though everyone always hypes themselves, it’s normal, 9ice is one of the self-hype humans.
Do You Ever Believe 9ice When He Said: “Don’t Doubt Me I Will Bring Home Grammy”?
